The Coles That Are Burning: I have noticed a difference in the spirit of the servants God is calling to work in His kingdom. The generations between the ages of 20 and 40 are split into 2 camps. A divine dichotomy that has reared one group dependent on the covering, appointment, and assignment from their perspective generations, and the other group spiritually stirred to drive toward their calling dependent on the covering, appointment, and assignment from their God and Savior.
- The first group. This group is identified by their goals, objectives, and plans and how they plan to achieve these. Goals are very import in your pursuit to walk in God’s will for your life at any given time during your life. Instead of follow Godly goals with Godly assistance, this first group will establish goals based on what they see someone else doing. Or they will set goals to be somebody they always wanted to be, or worst yet they never had a call at all but it sent through what is called the generational follow through “My daddy’s a plumber so I going to be a plumber”
- The second group. This group is identified by the passion, pursuit, spirit upon their life.
Goals are still a vital markers set before our lives allowing us to press forward in areas of our lives that we desire to see change. When I moved back to Michigan in 2001 I knew that I had received my direction from God to pursue my first level of credentials. I began this pursuit by making goals. Order classes, set out a schedule of completion, I applied for credential according to district time schedule. If this was God’s will then I would receive the wisdom and knowledge needed to make every step along the way. The steps would be very difficult but he would be there to carry me through them along the way. Nothing is impossible with God. Then each step would only be possible if a door opened. The direction was clear and God order the steps.
Conclusion: Since I currently make tents to provide for my family as I pastor a small church in Michigan. Working in the midst of peoples everyday life has instilled in me to count minutes in the day as precious as gold or silver. Because I am sowing tents for a good part of the day I take every opportunity to invest these spare minutes into God's work. I have also learned what it means and feels like to utterly and totally depend on the Holy Spirit to inspire me and prepare me for His message that He desires to speak and the teaching He desires to lead us in. As the Bible declares “He who comes will guide you in all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears” (John 16:13). Each week I would prepare each class birthed out of His prompting and my saturation in His word as we moved toward a broad comprehension of His Person, His Work, His Power, His Gifts & Fruit. In the last class, the 8th week, I applied an understanding that must be addressed between the Holy Spirit's Presence in the World and the Servants who have committed their hearts to serve God. God’s people must reverse its mental conception that it is God who sets in order the mission, orchastrates ministry, and drives the purpose of the Church. I reasoned in the class that if I were to pass on in the life and ascend to my Savoir that the Holy Spirit would still be present in the world amongst all flesh. In turn let us realize that the Holy Spirt, acting in the 3 fold application of God’s reconciliation and eternal kingdom establishment process, has been sent to the world. As Pentecost trumpeted His arrival He as come with a Mission, a Ministry, and a Purpose. His Mission, His Ministry, and His Purpose is in accordance with the will of God which was preordain before creation of the world (Eph 1:4-11). If the believers do not approach God the Holy Spirit with the understanding that we are not a prominent or necessary component needed by God to fulfill His will than the church will devise their own goals, objectives, and plans. We will have the form of Godliness but will lack the power. Instead we must approach God with a request that we be used as His servants. O God move in your people again. Drive us to our knees in repentence. Drive us to our knees by the weightiness of your glory. Jesus Christ, King.... we are your subjects. Call us unto your services.
